Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon, board member of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, has helped organize a vision event for the Academy’s scholar-athletes in conjunction with VSP Global Eyes of Hope mobile eye care clinic.
The Nationals’ eye specialist, Dr. Keith Smithson, will provide no-cost eye exams and prescription glasses to scholar-athletes who qualify. In addition, all of the 150 scholar-athletes will receive a pair of Nike sunglasses to protect their eyes from UV rays.
