The Maryland Terrapins waited until the final week to become bowl eligible, but they got it done with a 31-13 win over Rutgers in the regular-season finale.
Nonetheless, they’re going “bowling” for the third time in four years, but their first year under head coach DJ Durkin.
The Terps will face former ACC rival, Boston College, in the Quick Lane Bowl. The game is Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Dec. 26, 2016.
“We are excited to be selected to play in the Quick Lane Bowl,” said Durkin. “Returning to the postseason is a big step in the upward trend of our program. I’m thrilled that our student-athletes, especially our seniors, will have the chance to play at Ford Field in Detroit and experience all of the special events that come with bowl week.”
The Terrapins finished the regular season with a 6-6 record and are looking to finish Durkin’s first year with a winning record.
Boston College is also 6-6 and has to win it’s last two games of the regular season to become bowl-eligible
