Councilmember Todd visited the Walter Reed Campus to tour the ongoing construction on the DC International School (DCI) and the Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School (LAMB PCS). The Councilmember was very pleased with the progress being made and looks forward to seeing students thrive at DCI and LAMB Public Charter School.
When completed, these schools will increase the quality of school choice for Ward 4 parents and students by consolidating five charter schools into world-class educational facilities right in the heart of Northwest Washington. Additionally, DCI and LAMB PCS are integral components of the ongoing redevelopment of Walter Reed’s 66-acre campus. Over time, we will see Walter Reed transformed into a vibrant center with new housing (affordable and market-rate), neighborhood-serving retail, office space, recreation, and green space. Walter Reed is truly the front-lines of economic development in Ward 4 and Washington, DC. Councilmember Todd is committed to ensuring the redevelopment efforts move forward in a way that benefits the entire community, bringing jobs and opportunity to residents and attracting new people and businesses to Ward 4.
