The African American community is very proud of the role that thousands of Tuskegee Airmen played in World War II. They were the First Black servicemen to serve as military aviators in the US Armed Forces, while still subject to Jim Crow laws in a racially segregated military.
If you are a descendant of a Tuskegee Airman, listen up!
On Sunday, February 19, at 3pm, the DC Black History Celebration Committee is honoring the descendants in its Annual Free Concert–”African American Men Sing Songs of Praise.”
The concert will take place at The Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 816 8th Street NW.
If you are a descendant of a Tuskegee Airman and would like to be part of the Sunday 3pm Feb 19 Procession, call 202 257 7619.
