House Tour Showcases DC Chefs, Mixologists, and Experts at Seven Houses April 22
The Junior League of Washington (JLW) will host its sixth annual Kitchen Tour on Saturday, April 22, from 12 – 4 p.m. in the H Street Corridor neighborhood of Washington, DC.
An expected 300-500 ticketed attendees will enjoy a walking tour of seven hand-selected homes for tastings, demonstrations, and lectures by local chefs, mixologists, floral designers, interior decorators, and real estate experts.
“Kitchen Tour offers DC-area residents the unique chance to explore stylish, updated kitchens in the H Street Corridor, and food and drinks from some of the area’s top chefs and mixologists,” said JLW President Elizabeth Keys. “While touring one of DC’s trendiest neighborhoods and learning about home improvement and entertaining, our guests are also directly supporting the improvement of our community, since all proceeds from the event go directly to our volunteer work supporting DC-area nonprofits.”
During each visit, guests will sample food from local restaurants like Cava Grill and BlackFinn Ameripub and beverages from breweries and distilleries like Stella Artois and Lagunitas, as well as get new ideas for cocktails, appetizers, party favors, and event decorating. Many of the featured homes have been recently remodeled or have specific features unique to the particular home, and homeowners will be available to share about their experiences with home renovations and decorations.
A Kitchen Tour mobile app will provide the walking route along with valuable information on homes, vendors, and discounts and special offers for our vendors. The app will be available for Apple and Android devices in April.
To kick off Kitchen Tour, JLW will host Toast of the Tour on Wednesday, April 12, at Long View Gallery from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Up to 300 guests will attend this evening cocktail reception and enjoy exclusive preview tastings from local DC chefs and mixologists participating on the Kitchen Tour.
