The In Flanders Fields Fund is hosting its third annual commemorative ceremony on April 30, 2017 in Pershing Park at 12 p.m. to honor both veterans and their amilies with a reading of the historic “In Flanders Fields” poem.
“This year has a particular importance for us as we remember the centennial of America’s entry into World War I,” said Tom Florczak, Executive Director. “I look forward to another successful ceremony as we continue to grow and support not only the men and women who continue to serve bravely in the U.S. military, but their support systems at home, as well.”
Through highlighting the themes of the nonprofit’s namesake poem, the ceremony will feature key speakers that will honor our servicemen and women. The ceremony will conclude with the reading of Lt. Col. McCrae’s poem, “In Flanders Fields.”
