Discovery Communications employees around the world will come together to volunteer in their local communities on Friday, June 16 as part of the company’s eighth annual “Discover Your Impact Day.” Nearly 1,000 employees from the company’s global headquarters in Silver Spring, Md. will partner with local organizations to make a difference in the DMV area. Projects this year include hosting an Olympic-themed field day for deserving students, serving meals to homeless individuals, revitalizing schools and parks, socializing with shelter pets, and much more.
In total, employees from nearly 60 offices in over 35 countries across 5 continents will spend the day volunteering in their local communities as part of Discovery’s largest and most impactful global day of service to date. Discover Your Impact Day began in 2010 as a celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary, and has since become one of Discovery’s hallmark corporate social responsibility initiatives.
