Exelon is committed to providing innovative solutions to enable customers’ needs
Exelon will host its 2017 Innovation Expo on Tuesday, June 27, showcasing the latest advanced technology products Exelon is developing and using to better meet the needs for safe, reliable and affordable clean energy.
Just as Airbnb, Amazon, Netflix and Uber have used technology to transform entire industries, technology is rapidly transforming the way Americans buy, manage and consume energy. During the 2017 Innovation Expo, more than 2,000 employees, vendors and industry experts will gather to explore how technology can solve challenges affecting the energy industry and contribute to a more effective work environment. The Expo, with includes participants from around the globe, will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
In an industry that dates back roughly two centuries, the Exelon 2017 Innovation Expo will empower attendees to dig for innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and improve service. One example of how creative thinking can overcome obstacles that will be showcased is the story of Innovation Expo speaker William Kamkwamba, who as a 14-year-old in Malawi, designed and built a windmill from scrap metal to create electricity and a water pump for his village stricken by drought and famine.
Attendees will also hear from Exelon executives and other industry leaders on how smart grid applications, distributed generation, microgrids, virtual reality, big data, battery storage and other technology is giving customers more control on how they use energy.
