Paddle Second Chance (PSC) has raised over $100,000.00 for Operation Second Chance (OSC) in the last 5 years of fundraising. This year, at PSC’s annual paddle and kayak race and fundraiser on June 24th, PSC is targeting to raise over $40,000.00 for OSC.
OSC is a non-profit 501c organization committed to serving wounded veterans and their families as they recover and transition back to active duty or civilian life. Over 90% of the funds raised have impacted countless veterans’ lives in a meaningful way, including over 30 families in the Delmarva Peninsula.
PSC will hold their 5th annual stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and kayak race and fund raiser for a worthy cause.
“Early indication is this will be our biggest event yet with a lot of local support from paddlers and donors compelled to make a difference in wounded veterans lives,” states Walt Ellenberger, PSC Chairperson.
PSC 2017, #PSC2017, will kick off on Friday June 23rd with registration, packet pick-up and a PSC happy hour at The Starboard in Dewey Beach, DE. Race day will be Saturday June 24th at Holts Landing State Park in Millville, DE featuring PSC’s Elite (5.0 miles), Open (2.5 miles), and Sprint (1.0 mile) races. The day will wrap-up with an awards ceremony and community picnic for all those in attendance.
This year’s headline and platinum sponsors are B2 and Company, Matan, CSI Printing, and NKS/LandShark. We encourage and appreciate local sponsorship from residents and businesses for a cause that truly impacts wounded heroes’ lives.
